The Westchester real estate market is hot. If you want to get the highest price for your home, the time to sell is now. Last week we sold a condo before it was even on the Multiple Listing Service, for $25,000 over the asking price. Everything we’re listing is selling fast, and properties are usually generating multiple offers. We need inventory, and would love for you to get in on this wave of unprecedented demand for homes.
There is no doubt that the pandemic is pushing this trend. We don’t know how long this trend will last so to get the best price for your home, it makes sense to act now while the demand in Westchester remains high.
- People want to get out of New York City. You can see that in the fact that NYC rents are actually going down. There were only 377 new leases signed in Manhattan in the first week of June, down 67% from a year ago. Landlords are being forced to lower rents and offer deals, like one or two months free rent.
- People want more living and breathing space. We’re lucky in Westchester that we have backyards, plus plenty of beautiful green parks and sandy beaches to walk on.
- Mortgage rates are very low. This week the average rate for a 30-year fixed mortgage is only 3.15 percent. Just a month ago, the average rate on a 30-year fixed mortgage was higher, at 3.37 percent.
